Green Day Turns Up the Noise

Punk energy amplified — from the app to the stage.

When SiriusXM partnered with Green Day for an exclusive channel launch and Small Stage Series performance at NYC's Irving Plaza, the design had to earn the band's credibility. Green Day's audience doesn't forgive half-measures.

Working alongside my colleague Dan Herchek, I co-designed a high-impact visual identity that channeled the raw, rebellious energy of Green Day's sound. Loud typography, stark contrast and gritty textures — drawn directly from the visual language of the Saviors album art direction — anchored every touchpoint. The identity extended from key art and OOH placements to the physical environment inside Irving Plaza itself, creating an immersive fan experience from the moment you saw the campaign to the moment you walked into the venue.

The partnership with Carnival Cruise Line added a co-branded experiential layer, requiring the identity to flex across two distinct brand contexts without losing its edge.

Design Decisions

  • We pulled visual cues directly from Green Day's Saviors album art so the campaign felt like an extension of the band's own creative world, not a corporate partnership.

  • The type treatment was the loudest design decision — oversized, distressed and unapologetic. It did the work that imagery alone couldn't.

  • The key art was built to scale into physical space from day one — every proportion tested for both the screen and the walls of Irving Plaza.
